Good Questions: Better Shade for Ikea Regolit Lamp?

Hi. I'm in love with the CB2 "big dipper" arc lamp for my living room, but at $199, even CB2's lower-end interpretation of the high end Flos arc lamp is too expensive for me. So, I recently bought the Ikea Regolit arc lamp for $35 from only the picture on the website, but didn't realize how insanely HUGE it is. I mean, massive. Not the arc — the arc is fine (not gorgeous chrome but basic black and it works). It's 2.5 feet wide and almost that tall and literally dwarfs the room, even though it's a pretty sizable living room...

So, help me out, AT readers: what kind of shade should I get (on a tight budget) that would work better for this lamp? I need something that will provide the most amount of light possible, since the room doesn't have overhead lighting. I assume a drum style shade like the Big Dipper would be nice, but I'm not sure what kind of shade will fit — does anyone have this lamp, or experience with this lamp? Also, I don't want to spend more than $20 or $25 on a lampshade if at all possible, because I really am on a super tight budget. Then again, I'd love to hear any suggestions at all, because I could always try to find higher priced shades second-hand on Ebay or Craig's List.

If it helps, the rest of my room decord includes: apple green walls (Behr's asparagus), eggplant purple microfiber couch, a wall of white Billy bookcases, a tall silver/chrome 1950s hairdrier chair made into a lamp, a midcentury dark wood chair, and a midcentury Danish credenza in a cherry kind of wood. I just moved so I can't attach photos of the living room yet -- everything's in boxes and disarray.

Thanks! JP Lee
