Goodbye Detergent Scrubs

Yesterday, we posted on the best green dishwasher detergent. Today, we're taking things even farther and introducing you to some scrubbers that could eliminate your need for dish soap altogether. These are the Goodbye Detergent scrubs, and you'll never guess what they're made of ...

These Goodbye Detergent scrubbers? They're made from recycled food waste — walnut shells, corn cores, peach pits, and more.

According to Treehugger, the scrubbies will be available soon, and the designers hope that their super-abrasive power will seriously reduce the need for dish soap and detergent.

We still think a drop or two of soap might be needed. But it sounds like a product we'll be more than willing to try out once it's available. (Will it stand up to our Trader Joe's sponges? We'll see.)
