Water heaters haven't changed much over the last 50 years, but it looks like Gorenje has come up with an interesting solution. Their latest Tiki water heaters are high tech and double as heat pumps.

This is a new water heater from Gorenje named Tiki. We don't know why the name Tiki is so popular, since ADhoc also have a hanging radiator that has the same name. This water heater has some great features. It also functions as a heat pump, which will save you money and it's naturally eco-friendly. The heat pump is mounted on top of the tank and uses heat from the ambient air, coupled with extra energy sources, to heat the water up to 131°F.

It comes with a system that will disinfect the water in order to prevent bacterial growth. The heat pump can also be used to cool off smaller rooms. The initial cost will pay itself off in a couple of years, when you compare it to traditional gas or oil heating. It comes in capacities of 200-500L. There is also a more compact version available. It's also compatible with central heating systems as well as solar energy panels.

Heat pumps are definitely among the most efficient systems; their advantages include the possibility of cutting the heating costs by 60 to 80 percent; they do not cause any pollution at the point of installation, while maintenance is simple and cheap. Heat pumps can be used as an elementary or additional heat source for heating systems, as well as for preparing warm sanitary water in apartments, single family homes, and other residential and commercial buildings.
