[Spoilers for the original “Gossip Girl” series.]

Have you heard? “Gossip Girl” is coming back to gives us #stylegoals and teen drama! HBO Max (AKA the future home of “Friends”) has ordered 10 hourlong episodes of the rebooted series, picking up eight years after the original GG website went dark. With social media’s exponential growth since the original series ended, I’m sure we’re in for a break-neck pace of hot teen gossip.

While we don’t have a ton of details, we can speculate wildly about what kind of fabulous pads our new gossip babies will be residing in. I imagine these new teens will be similar in type to our icons: Blair Waldorf, Serena van der Woodsen, Dan Humphrey, Chuck Bass, and Nate Archibald.

Let’s start with Blair. In the original series, her room was Marie Antoinette inspired with lots of dark, moody accents. I would love to see another “traditional” style room, but with a fashionista twist. Blair always referenced Grace Kelly; maybe new Blair idolizes Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle and her room is reminiscent of an English manor with lots of pattern, velvet draperies, and golden accents.

It Girl Serena va der Woodsen had several different homes, but I think most memorable is the modern art filled penthouse apartment (remember the Mapplethorpe?!). The new series must have an It Girl and my bet is she will inhabit an equally artsy, chic space. Perhaps something modern and minimal a la Axel Vervoordt’s $20 million masterpiece for Kim Kardashian West. Think creamy neutrals, sculptural furniture, and antique touches throughout.

It wouldn’t be “Gossip Girl” without Dan Humphrey…literally. So who is going to be the new outsider? Will they take up the Gossip Girl mantel? Somehow hiding out in Brooklyn doesn’t seem as outsider-y as it did in 2007. Maybe instead of an audiophile Brooklynite, there’s a foodie from Queens. I’m picturing a commercial style kitchen taking up most of the common space, with well-loved cook books stacked high on the shelves and copper pots and pans hanging above an island. That sounds like a good place to cook up the next rumor—get it?

We can’t forget the dynamic duo that is Nate Archibald and Chuck Bass, walking around the city as if they owned it. I think the new series will need at least one character who resides in a quintessential New York building, like 990 Fifth Avenue. Across the street from The Metropolitan and designed by Rosario Candela, this kind of building is fit to be in a snow globe and given to your cousin who lives in Florida and has “big city dreams” to one day dance on Broadway. Also, in this scenario it is 1980.

Whatever the reboot brings, it’s going to be a wild ride. Buckle up. XOXO.
