Greasy Laptop Fingers? Use a Napkin on Your Trackpad

Picture this: Your Friday night Netflix Instant Stream movie just ended and you're left sitting in front of your MacBook with 10 fingers worth of greasy, salty potato chip fingers. What do you do? Since hi-tech problems always seem to come with simple solutions, you grab a napkin, of course. But this time, you'll use it a little differently.

Whether or not you regularly ban tech at the table at home, sometimes you'll want to spend a night in catching up on Hulu with a Coke and some potato chips.

Here's a tip from a Lifehacker reader on keeping your laptop clean and happy: For greasy-fingered nights like that, grab a napkin and set it on top of your trackpad before you dip your mitts inside the bag.

The touchpad will still work perfectly with a napkin between it and your fingertips, making this solution perfect for those moments when you just need to hit pause or keep the screen awake.

But if you're really messy, you should maybe try this full-sized, adhesive Keyboard Napkin that covers the whole bottom panel of your laptop.
