Do you think the White House should be green? Should it have a living roof and solar panels?

If you could design a new White House would it be a straw bale White House? Would the lawn be ripped out in favor of native, drought-tolerant plants? Or would you water it with harvested rainwater?

We read about the White House Redux contest last week on BLDGBLOG, which makes sense because BLDGBLOG author Geoff Manaugh is one of the contest's judges.

The gist is this: "On occasion of the election of the 44th President of the United States of America, Storefront for Art and Architecture, in association with Control Group, challenge you to design a new residence for the world's most powerful individual."

Have some ideas about what kind of roof you'd like to put over the next President's head? Enter!

The winner's get some pretty great exposure and prizes.
