I'm not Sandra Lee, but, I can appreciate a good tablescape. Since Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays revolve a lot around food — it's only natural to use even more food to decorate the table. The fall months are filled with colorful and inspirational fruits and vegetables that are just screaming to be showcased.

Fill a glass vase or large bowl with water and cranberries for a really cool effect — add a floating candle to each vase for a extra dramatic table. Lemons are always a go to fruit for decorating, stick a place card in a lemon and place it on each plate or fill up your favorite bowl and place it in the center of the table. Our favorite edible place setting (depending on your palette, of course) is a place card stuck in a red habanero pepper — just be sure there aren't any kiddies around!

There are several advantages to grocery store decor, it's certainly less expensive than flower arrangements and they won't go to waste after the party. Apples and cranberries will last much longer than a few flowers!
