Guerrilla Gardening With Kids
Confession time. This post is sort of a thinly veiled opportunity to showcase two things dear to our hearts: guerrilla gardening and cute baby photos. When we read that blogger/guerrilla gardener Andrea Bellamy takes her baby girl Lila (pictured above in full-on garden ninja mode) with her on seed-bombing expeditions, we were both impressed and charmed.
For the past three years, Bellamy has been keeping an inspirational and informational blog, Heavy Petal, where she writes about gardening in its many permutations.
In addition to being a primer on guerrilla gardening (starting with an explanation of what exactly a seed bomb is), Bellamy is an excellent resource for anyone with aspirations to develop their urban gardening green thumb.
Heavy Petal’s extensive post categories include such topics as garden design, composting, indoor gardening, critters and wildlife, pond and water gardening, and growing veggies and other edibles.
(And to answer a question you may be wondering right now: no, it’s not too late in the season to go out there and get growing.)
