Gus’s Jalapeno Jelly Bedroom

Name: Gus (9 months)
Location: St. Louis, MO
Color Inspiration: We moved to St. Louis from Oxford, Mississippi, where people are definitely not afraid to use color… Feeling a little homesick one day, I ran across a paint swatch called “Jalapeno Jelly.” I was instantly in love with it, despite that fact that it was such a bold color. I knew that it would be the perfect color for a nursery regardless, of whether that nursery was for a girl or a boy!

Color Inspiration continued: So… I painted my guest bedroom and waited for our little baby to make his arrival… luckily, he didn’t take too long! I LOVE this room! It is bright, cheerful, and energetic… and it reminds me of everything that I love about the South!

Tip for Using Color: If you find a color that you love, USE IT! Even though I have spent just as much time and energy decorating the other rooms in our house, Gus’s room is, hands down, my favorite! Every time that I see those Jalapeno Jelly walls, I can’t help but smile! To balance such a bright color, the rest of the room is decorated with neutral bedding, eclectic artwork (courtesy of my super-talented sister), and retro toys.

Colors Used: “Jalapeno Jelly” Green, White, Cream, Red, and Brown
