Habitat Restores/ Builders Surplus Stores

Here's a wonderful tip posted by Suzanne O'Connor of Bargains LA that will appeal to both your wallet and your sense of civic charity: the Habitat Restores are the retail outlet of the commendable charitable organization, Habitat for Humanity ("I helped build it too!"), stocked full of new and used surplus building materials donated by building supply stores, contractors, demolition crews and individuals, all sold at discount prices. Moen bathroom faucet for half price and solid wood doors for $35 each, perfect for the renovator on a budget...

So if you're renovating on a tight budget, you might want to drop by in Pasadena, Gardena or Garden Grove. And your purchase goes right back to the community, as sales raise funds to build an additional 10 or more houses per year. Just think of these like Home Depot with a heart.
