Handcrafted Wooden Bikes From Condemned City Trees

I used to live in downtown Los Angeles and belonged to the neighborhood council where we spent months lobbying to plant trees in empty planter boxes. What we never imagined was, under cover of darkness, the felling of several dozen mature trees a few blocks away. As you can imagine, there was considerable outcry over it. But the damage was done.

If only someone like the folks at Masterworks Wood Bicycles had been on the scene to create their handcrafted bicycles out of the timber. They make bikes out of doomed urban trees, including dying trees from people's homes to give them a second life and continue their history.
