Handmade Dollhouse Built by the Grandparents

We've probably all hobbled together something fast and easy from the recycling bin for our little ones to play with in a pinch. For a long time, my daughter's favorite toy was an empty Gatorade bottle filled with Froot Loops. But every so often, we see the exact opposite of fast and easy. This dollhouse was crafted by hand with the sweetest, painted details we've ever seen. In each miniature room, you can see the love and time spent creating this heirloom toy.

Ohdeedoh reader, Sarah Henry, wrote in to tell us about the amazing dollhouse her grandparents, ages 87 and 86, created with scraps of wood and fabric they had around the house. There are hand-painted saltillo tiles, indoor swings with real chains, a toy chest, and a cabinet full of mini quilts. And that living room rug? If we were 3 inches tall, this is where we'd want to live.
