Handmade Modern: Todd Oldham & Julia Szabo
Dept. of Resources. We almost missed this, despite reading MoCoLoco everyday and getting this email from Todd. This looks like a very cool resource. (Thanks Todd!) MGR
I just picked up Handmade Modern by Todd Oldham and Julia Szabo. I had been waiting for this book for a while because I saw a piece on it several years (only 1.5) ago in New York Magazine.
I think there is a great idea for a couch on p 24 which is a reworking of those shelving units in the link. It has book shelves in the front under the seating, closed storage in the back and open shelving on top.
(didn't I see the Bourollec Bros incorporate some sort of poles in their couch so you can hang their algues from it? I think this Oldham idea is far more functional.)
One complaint: the sewing for one of the cushions for the sofa seems to be missing in the book.
I want really large versions of the plaster moon rocks.
