Greeting: Elijah was due Christmas Day 2006, that day came and went without any sign of him wanting out. On the 3rd of Jan 2007 I ended up in theatre having an emergency c-section as things weren't looking good. I first saw him a few hours later in SCBU and even with all the tubes he looked exactly how I imagined. His condition deteriorated and he was transferred to another hospital where he stayed in NICU for just over two weeks. When we arrived at NICU the doctor gave us very grim news, his condition was severe and 20% of babies don't survive. (continued...)
Although days went by without improvement we soldiered on and were eventually transferred back to our local hospital where he was discharged at almost six weeks. Fast forward four years and he is absolutely perfect. We couldn't have asked for a more loving and bright child. Last year he asked to skip his birthday because he already had lots of presents from Christmas. This year he has some friends coming for lunch.
Favorite present: Thomas tracks (isn't that every four year old's ideal present???) We have a few different sets starting off with the plastic sets but now slowly adding to the wooden sets.)
