If you love your pet, we mean really LOVE your pet you should check out HauteDogs.org.
Justin Rudd, the founder and organizer of Haute Dogs, started this community event site through his bulldog Rosie. Rosie is a common fixture in Belmont Shore, she travels in her red wagon with a little California license plate with her name on it (though we just saw on his home page that her wagon was stolen, which made it to the KCAL News).
Justin holds Haute Dogs parades at Easter , Howl’oween and the annual Bless The Pets. The parades are a spectacle to be seen. Over 600 dog owners costume their pets (and sometimes themselves) to walk 2nd Street in Long Beach. The events raise money for a nonprofit group called CAT [Community Action Team] that helps produce quality events for children, pets, and the environment.
The Haute Dogs organization (pronounced “HOT”) is a diverse and growing network of dog owners, lovers, educators, rescuers and supporters. Our common bond has resulted in a unique and lively community of folks who share some qualities of our favorite dogs: devotion, spirit and tenacity. Through educational outreach and events, we hope to help inspire a better understanding and appreciation of dogs, dispel damaging myths, encourage responsible ownership practices, and offer practical adoption and rescue opportunities.
