Packing a lunch is lauded as a surefire way to save some money, but it takes a ton of motivation to pull off this well-intentioned feat without succumbing to the siren song of takeout. Appropriately named The Heatbox, this nifty food container is designed to bring relief to lunch toters everywhere who’d rather bypass the line to the office microwave and get straight to grubbing. Even if you live in one of these countries with the longest lunch breaks, The Heatbox is still a total game-changer.
According to The Heatbox’s Kickstarter page, the container “enables you to enjoy warm and delicious food within 8 minutes regardless of your time and location.” The Heatbox uses steam to warm up the food; users need only add water to the leak-proof box to enjoy a hot meal that doesn’t sacrifice its nutrients during the heating process. Also, users can control the Heatbox through an app, which also offers recipes, three steaming programs (low, medium and high) and caloric intake tracking. The device can heat three meals on a single charge. Despite its tremendous capabilities, the Heatbox is actually lightweight and compact enough to fit into a suitcase or backpack.
With a $132 pledge, The Heatbox comes with an inner container lid and a charging cable, plus half off shipping to selected countries. The estimated delivery date is July 2020. Also, for every Heatbox that’s backed to throughout the campaign, the company will donate a meal to children in need around the world.
