"Heirloom" Projects

We'd slowly fold the piece of in half, then in half again, carefully following the instructions given to us. My sister and I would sit together and make cootie catchers and when we were done, she would write funny things inside them.

"You will marry a frog!", "You will live in a cave!", "You smell like old socks!" -- I thought it was hilarious. How would my 4-year-old self ever have guessed that I would be showing my son how to make his own cootie catcher?

There is just something so charmingly nostalgic and sweet about introducing your children to the same art projects and crafts you first discovered when you were their age. Do you have a favorite childhood art project you have shared with your children? We'd love to hear about it.
