Help with Layout of Large "Everything" Room?

Q: I just moved into a great new place, but I'm a little stumped by the furniture layout. I'd like to do this room as part of the Style Cure, but I'm not ready to do things like buy area rugs until I'm solid on where everything fits. It's a very large room (24.5' x 15'), and it needs to serve as dining room, living room and office. I'm trying to find a layout that meets all these needs. Ideally I'd like to keep the table near the doors, close to the kitchen. I don't mind the sofa where it is, but it does kinda bother me that the seating area is not centered on the fireplace:

Other restrictions: I really, really, really, hate having to turn my head to watch TV. I need to have it facing the sofa. I know, that makes things difficult, but there it is. I'd also like to be able to see the windows and the fireplace from the sofa as well. Also, I don't want to block either of the windows with taller furniture. Complicated!

Things in progress: Drapes. I've ordered more of the fabric that's on one window, and my seamstress aka Mom is prepped to sew them. Ditto on the cushions for the loveseat (free! Score!). I've ordered more of the stripe, so that's temporary.

I plan on having a custom desk system built once I figure out where it goes, so the ugly thing on that wall with its accompanying clutter is temporary.

I'd really love to hear your suggestions!
