Nope! Your screen's not broken. We just donated all our color. Sherwin-Williams is asking folks around the interwebs to give up their (online) color starting today. Why? Well, for all the digital color that's "donated" they'll give real paint to communities in need for projects to complete during National Painting Week and all year long.

National Painting Week (May 19–29 in the U.S. and May 12–28 in Canada) is a time to refresh our spaces, make an impression, and remember what an impact color has on your day-to-day. But it's not just a fluffy fake holiday! Sherwin-Williams will be donating paint and rallying volunteers to refresh non-profits, schools, community groups, and other deserving organizations around the country. In 2016, more than 3,700 Sherwin-Williams volunteers completed more than 275 community projects across the U.S. and Canada. Through partnerships with Boys & Girls Club (U.S. and Canada), Rebuilding Together (U.S.), and Ronald McDonald House Charities (U.S. and Canada), they'll help beautify spaces that help young people in need.

The best part? It's easy to help. You can increase the amount of paint given to communities in need by donating your color online. From now until May 18, you can give the gift of color in three ways:

  1. Give the color from a photo.
  2. Browse the web in black-and-white with the Donate Your Color Chrome Extension.
  3. Donate the color from your own website.

Whether you're just sharing a photo or turning your whole site to black-and-white (like we did), every donation increases the number of gallons of paint that go to communities in need during National Painting Week and all year long. Use the hashtag #donateyourcolor to help spread the word and invite your followers to join the movement at donateyourcolor.com.
