Remember that one DIY project you were going to get to last summer but never did? Now it’s sitting there, staring at you while you’re stuck at home all day, everyday. Well, HGTV wants to help you out. The network is casting a new show called “Design at Your Door,” and it’s all about finally getting around to those home projects while you’re not so busy social distancing.

“We’re all looking for ways to stay happy and connected, and a series like this feels right, right now,” HGTV president Jane Latman says in a statement. “We’re spending a lot of time at home and all around us are those ‘to-do’s’ that we can no longer ignore. The great news is that if you want help, HGTV is ready with the trusted experts who can guide you from start to finish.”

She continues, “Through technology, you can invite them into your home, show them your challenge, and we will send the solution to your front door.”

The show works like this: DIY hopefuls apply to appear on the show by submitting photos of their potential project and the story that surrounds it via email (designatyourdoor1@gmail.com) or via the Be On HGTV portal.

Then, if chosen, said DIYers will “pull out their paint brushes, break out the sewing machine and dust off their woodworking tools,” as the statement reads. They’ll be connected virtually with an HGTV expert and receive a surprise package full of custom pieces that will help pull their unique design together.

So, although cast members will be doing the reno themselves, they’ll have a guardian decor angel to lead the way.

Casting is officially open. So, if you have a room that is in dire need of a facelift, the supplies to get it done, but no ideas or motivation, contact “Design at Your Door” through email or HGTV’s casting page. Your do-it-yourself just became got-it-done.
