“Design Star” fans, rejoice! HGTV’s “Design Star” reboot, “Design Star: Next Gen,” officially has a premiere date. The home improvement competition series will debut on HGTV and Discovery+ on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 9 p.m. EST/PST. The six-episode series, hosted by dancer and TV personality Allison Holker Boss, will follow eight designers, renovators, and social media brand builders as they compete for a $50,000 prize and a shot at their own HGTV show.

Interior decorator and potter Jonathan Adler and designer Lauren Makk will serve as judges during the competition series. As the contestants face a number of challenges to create stunning spaces—such as creating smart solutions for multi-functional rooms, designing for “upcycled” homes, and incorporating natural elements into their designs—a rotating cast of celebrity guest experts will appear on each episode to lend their expertise.

“Property Brothers” star Jonathan Scott; actor Tia Mowry-Hardrict; “Help! I Wrecked My House” star Jasmine Roth; “Design Star” winner Kim Myles; TV personality Stephen “tWitch” Boss; award-winning designer Karim Rashid; and artist and floral designer Maurice Harris will all appear as guest experts on “Design Star: Next Gen.”

This series will provide a once-in-a-lifetime showcase for their talent and creativity.”

The eight competitors (and their Instagram handles) are as follows: Anthony (Tony) Allgeier (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania); Arianna Danielson (Colorado Springs, Colorado); Chris Goddard (Springdale, Arkansas); Carmeon Hamilton (Memphis, Tennessee); Eli Hariton (Denver, Colorado); Peti Lau (Los Angeles, California); Marisa Molinaro (Los Angeles); and Justin Q. Williams (Atlanta, Georgia).
