This 2021 Color of the Year Is Energizing and Calming at the Same Time
During this unprecedented year, there’s a strong desire to add peaceful, relaxing colors to well-used living spaces. HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams continues to prove that to be true with the announcement of their 2021 Color of the Year, which evokes calmness at home—but with an energizing twist.
Without further ado, say hello to HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams’ 2021 Color of the Year, Passionate (HS2032). It’s a deep, earthy red, with an organic look that aims to be both timely and elegant. “The dark energy of the pigment is invigorating, and boldly modern but with historic influences,” according to a press release.
Through utilizing colors like Passionate, the goal is to activate creativity and productivity in a space while creating a serene sensation—a balance that many are looking to strike while sharing spaces and working from home. HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams suggests adding soft whites and natural textures together to complement the deep red.
Passionate is part of the larger Delightfully Daring Color Collection released by HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams, which is made up of 10 hues that also strive to bring healing, energetic vibes into a space—from warm Copper Kettle (HGSW2121) to creamy Pale Apricot (HGSW1126) and bright Diamond Weave (HGSW3166).
“The current cultural climate has created a state of overstimulation and information overload which has encouraged trends to live life with minimalism,“ Ashley Banbury, HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams Senior Color Designer, said in the press release. “Consumers are eager to streamline and simplify their lives and homes, but that doesn’t mean we need to forgo having fun with color.”
All paint colors in the Delightfully Daring Color Collection—including the star of the show, Passionate—are available for purchase exclusively at Lowe’s. As for which one to pick, that’s for you to decide!
