It’s important to learn from your home renovation mistakes. There’s also value in sharing your mistakes so it helps others learn from them and therefore don’t make the same mistakes you do. (Sharing is caring!). No one is spared from making errors, including HGTV designer Jasmine Roth, who recently revealed her biggest home renovation mistake.

Roth hosts HGTV’s “Help! I Wrecked My House,” which is all about helping others right the wrongs they caused when doing a home renovation themselves. But in a recent interview with the designer, she confessed to her own biggest home renovation—a mistake which ended up being a little more revealing than she planned.

While in the process of building her new home, Roth wanted to install a window above the bathtub in the main bathroom. The builder strongly suggested making the glass frosted for privacy purposes, but because they were on the second floor, Roth was convinced that going with clear glass was fine—until they actually moved in.

“Within a week, I regretted not frosting that glass because what I realized is I was giving the entire neighborhood a show,” Roth told Apartment Therapy. “I installed shutters over the windows and it still lets some light in, but it still reminded me of messing up.”

The moral of the story: when in doubt, always go with frosted windows in your bathroom—especially when quality tub time is at stake.

Help! I Wrecked My House airs Saturdays at 8/7 central on HGTV.
