A familiar face is returning to television screens. Ty Pennington, best known for being the host and lead carpenter on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and “Trading Spaces”, is coming back on the air, and this time he’s getting his own show on HGTV.

The first eight episodes of his new series, “Ty Breaker”, have been greenlit and they’re slated to air on HGTV in early 2021.

“I am so happy to be back in my element on ‘Ty Breaker’—helping people to not only love their space but showing them how to live in it,” Pennington said in a statement, per Variety. “We’ll address challenges that families face every day, but we’ll mix it up with friendly competition from my super-talented friends. You’ll see us having a lot of fun and creating killer designs!”

Those “super-talented friends” including “Kitchen Crashers “and “Windy City Rehab”’s Alison Victoria; designer Grace Mitchell from “One of a Kind”; and “The High-Low Project”’s Sabrina Soto, who will each challenge the starring family to try something new, whereas Pennington will encourage the family to stick with their current living situation.

Think “Love It or List It”, with a twist.

“Well it’s official … We’re Back 🥳 (hope your mute buttons work, Ha!)!” Pennington announced on Instagram. “I can’t say enough about how much fun this show has been …working with my incredible designer friends and crew to help these awesome families. I hope you guys dig it!”

It’s about time Pennington got back into his home reno mojo. With episodes set to air in a matter of months, expect to see more updates from the “Ty Breaker” team as they begin this brand new HGTV venture.
