Invite the Sanderson Sisters to Halloween with This New ‘Hocus Pocus’ Board Game
We may be months away from Halloween, but there’s really no bad time to express your love for the Disney flick “Hocus Pocus.” And now, you can play the official Hocus Pocus game while you watch the Sanderson sisters wreak havoc on Salem, Massachusetts.
Hocus Pocus: The Game is a brand new board game from Disney and Ravensburger based on the original Disney movie starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. The game has been in the works since earlier this year and made its first appearance at February’s Toy Fair 2020. According to Red Tricycle’s Gabby Cullen, who got a sneak peek of the game, the objective is to ruin potions concocted by the Sanderson sisters “to save the lives of Salem’s children before the sun rises.” To do so, players put potion ingredients to the cauldron and attempt to match all the colors or ingredients, according to the game’s Amazon listing. “Binx [the cat] will offer a helping hand, while Winifred, Mary, and Sarah cast spells to thwart your plans,” it reads. “Use tricks like Burning Rain of Death and Billy Butcherson to help you along the way!”
Spells from the movie make appearances within the game, and the entire packaging itself was crafted to look like Winefred Sanderson’s “Book.” Both superfans and new kids on the Salem block will enjoy the gameplay and references back to the “Hocus Pocus” plot.
Currently, Hocus Pocus: The Game is available for purchase from one Amazon seller for $49.99. However, keep checking the listing from now until Halloween to see if other sellers become available. A wider release of the game is expected by August, according to Red Tricycle.
