With Halloween behind us, we're now in that mad rush towards the Christmas season. Well, maybe not mad yet, but it will be. This is a great time to get a head start on those holiday crafts that you might not have time to devote to later. Taking care of all your decorating (and gifting!) now will mean that much more time to just enjoy the holidays later on. Here are four favorite projects from our video archives.
How cute is this felt mistletoe? It's fun to make, will add a little spice to your holiday party, and unlike actual mistletoe, can be re-used from year to year.
These felt ball garlands are perfect for giving your home a warm, cozy-festive look. I haven't made any of these (yet!), but the process for creating them looks fun and also kind of weirdly soothing. Sort of like playing with Play-doh.
These felt snowflake ornaments look impressive, but are actually quite simple to make. They're a wonderful complement to the felt ball garlands. And I imagine that a whole crew of these, in all different colors, would look fantastic on a white Christmas tree.
And finally, these wool felted soaps are similar to ones you might find on Etsy or in high-end stores, but you can make them yourself. They're sort of like a washcloth and soap all in one; the wool covering helps you get the most soapiness out of your soap (that's a scientific term) and also has anti-bacterial qualities. These would make fun, offbeat gifts for friends or family — and if you start making them now you can avoid the holiday gift rush.
Thanks for watching, and happy crafting!
