The Homes on Instagram Rocking the Holidays Hard
The holidays aren’t usually a time to take decor risks and we tend to fall back on tradition and nostalgia. Yet, maybe we should. Whether we’re talking ornaments or string lights, these elements are inexpensive ways to try out new colors — or just bring a new energy to your yearly decor. If you’re looking for inspiration, look no further than these festive interiors found on Instagram.
Product stylist Kristen Dion of Kristen Dion Design started her holiday decorating by creating a new tree skirt out of repurposed fabric scraps (leftover from her line of pillows).
Kara Whitten of A Kailo Chic life knows color — and that extends to her Christmas display.
Emily Henderson went in a neutral direction this year, but the lights and glimmering ornaments still keep it fun.
Remember how white pumpkins and eucalyptus was inescapable this fall? Jamie from So Much Better With Age translates that color scheme with silvery-blue evergreen boughs with white stockings.
Stylist Sandra M. Cavallo also keeps it simple on her front porch, with mini trees and a fresh wreath.
The fabulous Lindsay Jarvis goes in a vintage direction with a colorfully-decorated white tree, which suits her retro personal style.
Meanwhile, Krys Melo thinks pink with a bold tree that fits in with the colorful decor found throughout her home.
Though it looks very Palm Springs (until you look out the window, that is), Anette Talstad‘s retro-meets-modern home is actually in Norway. The white Christmas tree is in keeping with the “white with pops of color” theme of the home.
You could even combine retro with minimalism a la Tramanh Phi. The spare white tree shows off ornaments without getting in the way.
And finally, what feels like one of the most re-grammed holiday decor scenes we’ve seen so far, this Nordic style room from Francois et Moi is humble yet inspiring.
