“Chevron patterns. I can’t confirm or deny that I’ve never utilized this popular pattern but I can confidently say I have been long over the trend.” — @graymalin

Hilton Carter of Things by HC:

“One of the design trends that everyone seems to love that I’m not a fan of are letter boards with quotes on them. Honestly, I guess I’m not a fan of any decor that has sayings or quotes on it. It’s just not my thing.” — @hiltoncarter

Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors:

“A trend everyone loves, and I have been guilty of creating for many years, but am now 100% over… is open floor plans!!! I think it would be nice to return to designated rooms. I like the idea of a kitchen opening up to a family room, but I say bring back the separate dining room, and maybe add back in some walls or two!” — @amberinteriors

“Patterned wallpaper has definitely been having a moment lately, especially in small spaces like powder rooms. All of my designer friends swoon over maximalist wallpaper prints and even though I admire a bold gesture, I’m secretly thinking how much more I’d love a fresh coat of white paint with some great art hung on top of it.” — @camillestyles

Joy Cho of Oh Joy:

“The ’90s trend. I actually adored the ’90s and I lived some of my best years during that decade, but I don’t need it to come back as full force as it has. Maybe it’s just feels too recent to already be making a comeback?” — @ohjoy

Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere:

“Black hardware in the kitchen—faucets, drawer pulls, lights. Every few years a new finish becomes super trendy and everyone jumps on board (myself included a few years ago with all brass fixtures). I happen to think it looks gorgeous, especially when juxtaposed against a white, clean space, but would urge against doing something that feels so of-the-moment in lieu of sticking with the classics.” — @emilyschuman
