When you've got a specific collection you need to store, finding the right kind of shelving for the right price can be difficult. On our visit to Colin and Terisa's home in Oak Park last week, we were impressed by their ability to find inexpensive and simple shelving solutions for every room. Click below for more photos and ideas...

Wooden crates store their album collection, as well as some well-placed accessories. By organizing the crates in stacked, arced rows, they gave the basic set-up a small flourish.

In the kitchen, a narrow alcove was transformed into the perfect spot for wine storage by adding a few small shelves. The shelves are painted in a bright yellow, which stands out against the kitchen wall.

Second-hand lawyer's bookcases flank a console table in the living room, adding extra storage and creating a focal point against a long, open wall.
