Joanne Ooi is the creative director of Shanghai Tang, a large retailer that specializes in modern Chinese clothing (there is a New York location on Madison Avenue). The New York Times give us a peek into her 1,400-square-foot apartment in Hong Kong that she had custom designed with lots of unique details and tons of built-in storage...

The large media unit (above, left) can function as a desk, entertainment center or storage, depending on how it is positioned and which panels are opened. The unit also rotates.

The banquette in the dining room hides storage under the seats.

The design was the work of Joanne and her architect, Johnny Wong, of FAK3. For the full story and more pictures, see In a Hong Kong Flat, Customized Design and Storage and the slideshow.
