The Upswing Walking Assistant

The Upswing Walking Assistant

We came across this product that claims to "revolutionize the way babies learn to walk." It's called an Upswing or Walking Assistant, but we're not sure how we feel about it.

The basic premise here is that instead of a parent leaning over behind baby to prevent any painful falls when he or she sets out on those first few steps, the parent can hold the baby from behind thanks to the Walking Assistant. While we have nothing against less back pain for mommies and daddies, we're not 100% convinced this device looks natural.

Aesthetically, when we think about our baby's photo album, we're pretty sure we'd rather see a parent's welcoming hands ready to catch him if he falls.
