Todd's 'Unbuildable' Modern Home

Name: Todd
Location: Overland Park — Kansas City, Kansas

I found a corner infill lot in an already established neighborhood on the edge of a 40' ravine. People thought the lot was pretty much unbuildable so it sat for years. I came across the lot and decided I could build up and make it work. I ended up building a 3 story modern home with a rooftop deck overlooking the ravine with downtown views.

I am a young graphic designer with no architecture background but have always loved modern style and architecture. I used my graphic design programs (illustrator & Photoshop) to design this 3000 square foot modern home. I did research both locally and online to generate some ideas for my house. The home has 3 bedrooms, a loft, 4 bathrooms, 4 decks. This house was featured in KC Home Design Magazine in Feb 2009 and won the silver medal in the KCHD Design Excellence Awards for modern architecture the same year.

Thanks, Todd!
