This Kit Helps Turn Your Houseplants into a Gorgeous Vertical Garden
Running out of space for all of your potted plants? Instead of trying to find another spot to squeeze in yet another plant, it may be time to go in another direction—literally.
Consider creating your own vertical garden with Skypots, a kit that allows you to hang and connect your pots. No more tripping over your favorite plant or cleaning up the mess when your pet or kid accidentally knocks it over—Skypots provides a stacked space-saving and creative way to pot your plants.
Created by furniture designer, gardener, and engineer Ryan Benoit, Skypots is currently funding on Kickstarter and allows you to beautifully display your plants through a simple, tool-free process. To achieve this unique garden arrangement, you simply take your own potted plants and connect them with the Skypots hanging kit. To get the best results, the kit creators suggest using clay or ceramic pots up to 12” wide with a flat bottom and a drain hole in the center.
The hanging kit inserts through the drain hole of each pot and tighten the accompanying rubber O-ring grips and eye hooks. Then, pot plants like you normally would. The kit also has a solution for drainage: flanges made from 75 percent recycled plastics allow the water to flow from the bottom of one pot to the plant below. Skypots has plans to release an indoor hanging water catcher, but for now they recommend disconnecting the pots to water and re-hanging afterwards.
The Skypots hanging kits come in single, double and triple packs. The double packs contain one 17-inch kit and a 13-inch kit; the triple packs come with one 17-inch and two 13-inch hanging kits.
