How Can I Green My Apartment Building?

Q: HELP! I live in a great high-rise condo, just outside the metro NYC area. Any suggestions on greening up my apartment living and maybe even spreading the green message to my neighbors? It’s a large building and I can’t help but think we do a lot if we worked together.

Editor: JF, you’re in luck! Emily just wrote a post yesterday on 49 ways that renters can go green. That’s a good place to start. You could also sign up for the NYCWasteLess Apartment Building Recycling Initiative in which you work with the Sanitation’s Bureau of Waste Prevention to educate residents and staff in your building on ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Readers, tell us any experiences you’ve had with organizing your apartment building to go green, or experiences you’ve had convincing your landlord to adopt eco-friendly practices.
