Q: I currently live in a junior one bed that’s approximately 825 square feet. I would like to convert our windowless dinning room into an office/bedroom for our daughter. My question is: how do you weigh the pros and cons of a renovation?

Do I need to reach out to an architect, contractor, etc.? What is the general cost? Any unforeseen pitfalls? Can I even do this legally? I really don’t want to move as we can’t afford a two bedroom in our current neighborhood, but it’s getting to the point we need another room for our daughter. Please help. Would love your opinion and or advice. — Sent by Tanisha
