Rachel wrote in to share a fabulous project she oversaw for her friend's baby shower - an ABC book made by the attendees. Not only is it a great way to entertain guests and break the ice for people who may have just met, it's a wonderful keepsake for the baby and parents.
The idea is that each guest picks a letter of the alphabet to illustrate and after the party the book is bound and given as a gift. Rachel had this one printed up at FedEx/Kinkos in color, but you could also do it in black and white for the child to use as a coloring book when they're older. It's a nice way to remember the day, but also an opportunity to tell your child about the people who were there to welcome them into this world.
Rachel has shared some tips for this project on her blog My Right Brain where you can also see photos of the project in action.
