How To Clean In-Ear Headphones

We love our in-ear headphones. One thing we don't love about them is how quickly they can start looking quite dirty thanks to the white ear buds. Recently we discovered the cleaning powers of a home brew solution we made for cleaning our laptop screen, which will also work for cleaning your in-ear headphones.

What You Need

our screen cleaning solution
empty glass
clean rag
purified water

1. The first thing you do is remove the ear buds from the headphones. If you do not already have the screen cleaning solution mixed up, create a batch now mixing 1 part purified water with 1 part distilled white vinegar.

2. Pour the screen cleaning solution into the glass till it is about an inch high. Insert the ear buds into the glass and let that sit for about 15 minutes. Remove the ear buds, turn them inside out and then place them back into the solution. Leave them in the solution for another 15 minutes.

3. Remove the ear buds. Empty the contents of the glass, rinse the glass, then fill the glass with purified water. Insert ear buds into the glass. Leave the ear buds in this water rinse for about 10 minutes.

4. Remove the ear buds and dry them using the clean rag. Re-attach the ear buds to your headphones.

Additional Notes: Make sure that your ear buds are completely dry before re-attaching them to the headphones. Headphones like most electronics are not keen on getting wet.
