Q: My husband and I picked up a fantastic shag rug from West Elm a few months ago. So excited was I by the prospect of digging my toes into its plush woolly depths on cold wintry mornings in the future, I didn’t stop to consider that this rug would shed. And shed it does. First we tried waiting it out, but it’s been months now and balls of wool still roam our hardwood floors like tumbleweeds. I’ve tried vacuuming and vacuuming but short of doing so every day, I see no end in sight. Any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated! -Sent by MC

Editor: Perfect timing on this question, MC! As the temperatures drop here in the northern climes, I’m sure many of us are finding ourselves tempted by all things fuzzy, fluffy, faux-furry, and shaggy. Readers, is there any hope for MC’s rug, or would you recommend requesting a refund? Thanks!
