How To: Make A Cozy Home

It was one of the coziest nights we've had recently. And after reading Laure's post yesterday about her cozy weekend we wanted to add a few things to the list to make your own home cozy.

A swing arm lamp or a small bedside table light help make the room feel cozy by bringing down the harsh lighting that comes from using the overhead light. Lower wattage or a soft pink bulb can also cast a warmer glow in the space, creating a warm feeling.

There's something about a tall bed that makes us want to jump right in. Just by adding a little height to your bed makes the room much more inviting. You can easily do this by adding bed risers from Target.

Surrounding your space with books makes any room feel welcoming and homey.

We love it when a living room has two couches facing one another. Seating arrangements where people are placed opposite each other invites a roundtable sort of feel which makes the conversation comfortable--adding to the cozy vibe.

Placing a flokati rug beneath your feet is one of the fastest ways to add a level of coziness and warmth to your space. We love going barefoot (even in the winter) and a fluffy rug gives us an extra layer of warmth in our space.
