If you spend any time looking at design and organizational sites you no doubt have noticed the mania for labeling everything. Baskets, cubbies, hooks, dresser drawers, even stair risers— nothing is safe. While much of the labeling is done with either stencils or printed cards…

… here is a classy alternative that will stand out in the crowd. They are easy to make and everything you need can be found at your local hardware and craft stores.

These wonderful tags will give any piece a vintage look and Kimberly from Serendipity has the low down on how to make it happen. Painting the steel tag blanks and applying a number stamp are the steps we could have figured out for ourselves. Cooking on the enamel in a skillet on the stovetop is a whole other matter.
