How To: Make Napkin Rings From a Cardboard Tube

When tossing the cardboard tube from tin foil into the recycling bin, we’ve often marveled at how amazingly sturdy they are. So when we read about this DIY project, we figured it would be a great way to reuse the tubes, and that it wouldn’t seem flimsy or cheap on the table…

Over at Merrimentdesign.com, Kathy has a great How To with tons of photos. The process is fairly simple:

1. Cut the cardboard tube

2. Cover with fabric

She also smartly covers the inside seam with a ribbon (see above) which is a nice detail. One tube yields 8 napkin rings—perfect for your next dinner party!
