You’re One Small Step Away from a Cleaner, Happier Home
Cleaning house is fresh on everyone’s mind this time of year, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve got a long list of things you’d like to get done before patio weather breezes in.
I’m here to tell you: It’s OK if you don’t finish everything on your list. The goal with Spring Cleaning isn’t a perfectly spotless home. The end game is just feeling like you’ve done something — anything, really — to renew your space for the year ahead. So this weekend’s project is to get one step ahead.
Apartment Therapy Weekend Projects is a guided program designed to help you get the happy, healthy home you’ve always wanted, one weekend at a time.
This Weekend’s Assignment:
Check one thing off your spring cleaning list.
If you’ve got a long list started…
Great! You know what to do: Pick one thing on your list and do it. Or take the first step towards doing it. Make the appointment. Gather the supplies. Get yourself one small step closer to done.
If you don’t have a list…
Making a list can be your thing this weekend. Walk around your home with a notepad (the app on your phone works just fine) and jot make note of anything that’s dirty or in disrepair — basically anything you’d like to get your hands on soon, like the chipped paint in the kids’ room or the dusty ceiling fan in your double-high living room (lucky!) that you have to borrow a ladder to reach.
If you truly feel like you don’t know where to start…
We can help! We’re kicking off a (totally free!) Spring Cleaning program on Monday, April 2. Sign up with your email address, and every weekday for 2 weeks, we’ll drop a different assignment in your inbox. The program is designed to guide you effortlessly across every area of your home, leaving your place happier and cleaner than you started.
And the best part is, we’re doing Spring Cleaning on your time this year. Each day’s assignment is actually four micro-missions that you can pick and choose from to fit your home and your lifestyle, so cleaning doesn’t last a second longer than it has to.

You can catch up with weekend projects right here. Share your progress with us and others by posting updates and photos on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #atweekendproject.
Remember: This is about improvement, not perfection. Each week you can either choose to work on the assignment we’ve sent you, or tackle another project you’ve been meaning to get to. It’s also completely okay to skip a weekend if you’re busy or not feeling the assignment.
