How Would You Like to Work From a BMW Designed Task Chair?

The offspring of a collaboration between office furniture company Allsteel and the BMW Group DesignworksUSA, the Allsteel Clarity is the latest task chair to incorporate a slew of self-adjusting mechanisms to rein in the daily twitches and micro adjustments we make throughout the day while at the computer...

First thing you need to know about the Allsteel Clarity task chair is its mesh back. Some people prefer mesh support systems for their inherent give and also the improved breathability versus a fabric back, while others need a little more cushion support for their spine (an optional upholstered jacket slip cover for both the back and seat is also available).

The other thing you'll notice is the absence of mechanical adjustment pulls and levels (a la Aeron and their ilk), as the Clarity was designed to adjust by itself to the pressure, weight, and angle of the user...a "strategic ―design through reduction philosophy" which streamlines the task chair into a much welcomed simplified form. But as someone who has tested both user adjustable and self-adjusting task chairs across various models and brands, it's highly recommended to wait and see for future user reviews of how effective the systems proves to be in daily use. But on looks alone, Allsteel has our attention, that's for sure.

No price yet, but here's a link to the Allsteel Clarity sell sheet (PDF) if you're as curious as I am about this future task seating option.
