Hunt: The Las Vegas Market Furniture Show

So what does a designer do on her day off? Head to Vegas, of course. This past week, I went to the Las Vegas Market Furniture Show with a friend of mine who is opening a furniture showroom in April. We went there to scout new lines for his showroom.

The show was for wholesale buyers and owner of stores. Unfortunately, these lines are only sold to wholesale buyers and very few are sold to the trade only, but I saw some good stuff and took pics for you.

About 90% was your run of the mill, Levitz meets JC Penny meets American Home Furnishings. The furniture was unexciting and very middle America, except for the lines that I took pictures of. I didn’t bother shooting any lines that weren’t fresh and/or exciting.

The Furniture Show was located at the Market Convention Center where the permanent showrooms are. Out in the parking lot were 3 huge tents showcasing the temporary lines. They also held the show at the Mandalay Bay where exhibitors took over 3 more huge rooms. Needless to say I was exhausted from walking!

Of course I ran into Elvis, and had to get his photo. Personally I think he was the only one there who actually had a sense of humor!
