Yummy Rubber. It's time to kick off your snow boots and go splashing about in the rain! I wore my rain boots all last weekend and loved it. Accordingly, I've pulled together a list of my favorite, design stylish low rain boots (much more comfortable and not as heavy) for stepping out this spring. These above are classic Hunter's in purple with a nice glossy top cuff. Hunter basically kills this niche, and they've got other great offerings this season, but there ARE alternatives...

These are just cool to look at. Double the price of the classic Hunter and you've got a Dazzle: "Showcasing the Hunter spring/summer 2015 dazzle design, this short rubber boot is a new interpretation of our iconic Wellington boot. Fully waterproof, it features hand-applied geometric panels inspired by the innovative patterns painted to disguise British ships in the early 20th century."

Sorel rules the weird style again. A great new interpretation of the traditional Wellington, the Glow has a big heel, laces, leather upper and a industrial chic look: "Designed to keep you dry in even the worst weather, this is the ultimate combination of form and function; the vulcanized rubber and full-grain upper rejects the elements while the lightweight, cushiony molded EVA footbed provides lasting comfort."

Here's a really comfortable and easy to pull on French rain boot. From Le Chameau Monceau - since 1927 - these country boots are made of salt water resistant rubber and have a removable outsole for a fast drying. Two colorways.

A special order brand over at LLBean, these cute lace up blue batik boots are well priced and comfortable, with EVA molded insoles to cradle your feet. "These 100% waterproof rain boots use a unique batik dying method to create beautiful patterns and designs that will shine even on the grayest of days. Natural rubber upper is lightweight and superflexible. Lined with Bogs Max-Wick to keep feet dry inside and a DuraFresh technology that fights unwanted odors."

The Swedish simplicity of Tretorn's design never ages. These boots were made for life at sea in the 1960's, but have become chic street boots sporting four colors. "Natural rubber upper. Shaft height: 28 cm. Durable canvas lining. Textile sockliner. EVA insole. Rubber midsole. Ribbed rubber outsole."

Here's your BEST deal: HH's Midsund boots are great, straight ahead rubber and gum rubber boots that come in six colors. Since 1877 HH has been making weather protective gear and these boots are classics.

Another nice, low, lace up design, this one at Macy's by TH catches the eye as if a police boot from another country. Not much detail or super comfortable features on these puppies.

One of the most affordable rain boot on the list, the Pelican is actually on sale, taller than the rest and comes in three graphic treatments that make it a bit more preppy, but fun nevertheless. "Tall Waterproof Boot with Signature Hardware Detailing. Micro-Fleeced Lining Provides Warmth Under Foot. Non-Marking Rubber Lugged Outsole with Wave-Siping for Ultimate Wet/Dry Traction."
