ICFF 2006: Acronym, Emesu & Citizen::Citizen
(More from Insta-Reporter P2)
Acronym had an odd mix of pieces, but this high-pile, high style lounger covered in bright orange textile with the texture of bath mats was a standout. Also available in a weather-impervious outdoor model, this chair kept orange a fresh modern color, while no doubt inspiring the DIYer to recover their Ikea chairs in Bed Bath & Beyond bathmats.
White made it modern. This curvy and tactile piece from Emesu looked like a CAD drawing come to life, while its pairing of milky white finish and walnut top defined modern contemporary.
Part art, part statement accessory, the functional objects from
Citizen: Citizen blur the edges nicely. They introduce a smaller “Brush Cross” not yet in production that is the small-apartment version of their much-publicized and semi-controversial larger art cross madeup from scrub-brush bristles.
