If We Don't Paint the Trim, Will White Walls Be Too Bright?

Q: We love the look of all white walls and trim, but can't bring ourselves to paint this trim because it's over a hundred years old. So now I'm wondering if white on the walls would be too bright and clash with the wood trim? Thanks so much for your help!
