It’s been an eventful year for IKEA’s humble, hardworking blue bag. So we really should’ve seen this holiday themed hack coming.

The FRAKTA fracas started when Balenciaga released their $2,100 leather “knockoff” of the 99 cent tote. IKEA then responded with a pretty hilarious print ad on how to spot the real thing. Afterwards, it seems the entire internet was conspiring to hack the FRAKTA into everything from hats, to Air Jordans, to what must be a very uncomfortable thong.

The hardest working bag in the world then got a bit of a break, but now it’s returning to the spotlight (or the glow of a roaring fire, more like).

Yep, London based Bootleg Baubles has whipped up a limited edition of FRAKTA stockings for £20 (and yes, they do ship worldwide).

The run of just 50 is sure to sell out, though we can’t imagine they’d be too hard to DIY if you have a steady hand (or a sewing machine).

If you do decide to make it yourself, you could get a little fancy and choose one of the updated versions Danish brand HAY designed for the Swedish retailer.
