IKEA Is Selling Hats Made From Their Iconic Shopping Bags
We typically look to our favorite Swedish furniture retailer for all of our home accessorizing needs, but there’s a fashion item IKEA is selling that could help some do the same for their wardrobes.
The IKEA bucket hat is officially for sale, proving that there’s a market for consumers looking to inject a shot of Swedish retailer blue into their wardrobe all while making it clear where their furniture-buying allegiances lie.
Fashioned after the store’s FRAKTA shopping bags, the KNORVA hat is 3 1/2 inches tall and about 6 inches in diameter, according to Hunker. The IKEA blue hat bears the famous store logo in yellow block letters, sans the surrounding oval circle.
Previous iterations of the IKEA bag hat include Pleasures x Chinatown Market’s baseball cap, which transformed the 99 cent bag into a $38 version that began selling online in 2017. Luxury fashion retailer Balenciaga even got in on the FRAKTA fracas, charging $2,145 for its high-end tote version of the store’s iconic carrier. Thankfully though, the store’s latest bag-inspired fashion accessory is priced at a super reasonable $3.99, which is more in line with these under $15 IKEA products.
If you’re hoping to buy the bag hats in bulk, don’t put off the purchase for too long. According to IKEAUShelp Twitter account, quantities of the IKEA bucket hat are limited and will only be available in “a majority” of stores while supplies last. Of course, enterprising folks are already listing the hat on eBay—we’ve seen listings ranging from $12.50 to $29.99 for Buy It Now. If all else fails, you can DIY your own merch.
