Some IKEA products just never cease to amaze me. The $5 MORGONTIDIG candle cloche remains an all-time fave, and there’s my little BESTA cabinet-turned-bar, too. That said, the retailer’s new arrivals just keep getting better and better, particularly if you’re into natural woven textures like cane, rattan, and seagrass. IKEA has been incorporating these trendy and timeless materials into their collections more and more, and I’m now itching to pop over to my local IKEA to snag this wall-mounted basket that can hold spare tote bags by the front door, extra rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom, and serve as a clever display method to boot.

While watching Instagram stories the other day, I noticed that designer Lidia Salazar had picked up a few of these adorable, new $15 LUSTIGKURRE hanging baskets from IKEA. Given that I can never say no to a stylish yet practical basket (#smallspaceproblems) and also happen to love anything woven, I was immediately intrigued.

Salazar styled the LUSTIGKURRE as a receptacle for dried stems (which you can see above and below), and that’s what truly sold me on it. All you have to do is place a few faux or dried blooms in one of these baskets, and you’re pretty much done. The flared shape helps to splay stems in a visually pleasing way, and, of course, the more individual picks or sprays of flowers or leaves you put in there, the fuller the arrangement will be. You might not have space for a grand tabletop bouquet, but surely you can spare a bit of blank wall space for something like this.

These handmade storage baskets measure roughly 11-inches by 14-inches, and can be used all throughout the house, either standing on their own or hanging from hooks, as seen in Salazar’s space. As the holiday season approaches, I can think of a slew of festive uses for one of these guys, too. Why not tie a festive ribbon to the basket’s front and place your holiday cards inside it as they arrive? Grab one and fill it with a few at-home spa products to treat a friend to a gift basket. The list goes on and on, and you can reinvent one of these with seasonal flowers as spring arrives, too.

Check out the rest of the new baskets IKEA has to offer in the LUSTIGKURRE line. This hanging style is just one of many the Swedish retailer is now stocking.
